I was super excited about today, as it was a day off in Paris and we decided we’re going to the Lourve! Whoa! We had a good sleep in as we were staying in the same hotel again and the museum closes at 8pm tonight. Perfect. For those who aren’t familiar also, it’s one of if not the biggest museum in the world and has priceless artifacts including the most famous painting in the world, the Mona Lisa. The location itself is super impressive, as it used to house the kings of old, and acted and an apartment for Napoleon.

We caught the metro to the museum, as the metro in Paris is one of the best in the world. 7 stops and we’re there. It’s cold today, 8 degrees to be exact but it’s not windy so lining up isn’t too bad. The line is decent, about half an hour wait but it’s better than summer, it would be double or triple that.

The Lourve is absolutely stunning. The building, the history, the art, the sculptures, the artifacts, sooooo much history! It’s also super massive, it’s just huge. We were there the whole time, for hours and that’s still not enough. They recommend 3 days if you’re not in a rush and that’s spot on. We got a little digital tour guide each and listened to stories and history on heaps of artifacts and art. We learned a lot, so much to take in. I highly recommend visiting this place.

After the stunning but tiring day we chilled for a bit and went out to check out the town a little. It was a little sleepy in our area but went to a cool bar and had a few. It’s always good having a day off and staying in the same hotel, it’s relaxing and you get to see your surroundings. Today was good, and I’ll remember it for life.
