A little bit of a late night last night, but not too late as the couple we ended up heading out with were annoying. Slept till check in and decided it was best to head towards Paris, being that it’s one of the busiest cities in the world. We sit in the foyer for a bit dong some stuff online and Higgsy books us some accom an hour out of Paris. So, a 4 hour drive ahead just after we grab some local pizzas. My stint goes for 3 hours as we drive through Belgium, I haven’t been there before but the traffic is nuts. Higgsy does his stint and we’re driving though farmland, away for any highways and busy towns till we arrive at our accommodation. Wait for it.
It’s located in Raray, France. It is called Chateau de Raray, and oh my god, it’s massive. We arrived just as the sun had gone down, so here’s this long stone driveway, statues line the way, immaculate hedges and at the end about 600 meters down the drive, the massive Chateau. It looks like something out of a horror movie, or Wayne Manner for the Batman fans out there. This place is amazing. We slowly drive up the way, being slightly spooked by the statues and presence of the place. We’re not sure where exactly to go as there’s no signs so I suggest right in the main entrance. We stroll in and there’s some music, it’s the little bar downstairs and a lady checks us in. We’re on the 5th floor. No elevator, just a grand staircase dressed in red carpet. We arrive to our room and it’s lovely! Old but well kept, beds are great, bathroom is modern and it’s super quiet. I walk around a little but and there is a slight spookiness to the place. If I was baked it would be unreal!
The night is quiet and relaxing, we both plan a good rest and are excited about tomorrow in Paris. Playing with Glenn Hughes to a sold out crowd, cmon.
