It’s always good staying in a nicer hotel, but these beds were awesome. Good sleep but just not enough, we get up and meet Si and Anita in the lobby. We’re all looking a little sorry for ourselves but Anita get best on ground, she drank for Australia last night and she felt like it today. I got the blame as I’m an easy target for encouraging a good time, all the time. We load up and head to Münster.

It’s just a 2 hour drive, but the van seats 3 in the front and we only have a wooden frame for a bed in the back, but no bed. All good though, I offered to sit in the back and it wasn’t too bad at all. Few pillows and headphones was good for some chill time as the other 3 were yapping out front. We arrive to the accommodation and it looks like a wrong address. We dialed in the exact information but this was some unit. Maybe we’re staying at the promoters house? Dunno. Anyway, we change course and head to the venue and again, wrong address. Seriously. After a few guesses we find the joint, it’s called Rare Guitars and it’s awesome!! It’s a rare guitar store, with awesome amps and a stage and a bar. By day they sell guitars, by night they have rock shows. Legends. Rudy the owner is awesome, and we work out to come back in a few hours to load in. So we head to the hotel where Si and Anita are staying which is close to the venue. They wanted to have a look around and offered their room for us to have a lie down.

We’re in the carpark getting their bags, when Si says we’ll need our passports for check in.. at that moment Anita has a bad feeling/realization. She thinks she may have left their passports in the safe, in the hotel, in Köln. Oh shit. Upon looking though their bags, yes it is indeed true, Anita put the passports and ID’s in the safe which she never does, ever. We now have a problem. Si is pretty cool and calm as he always is, and they check into the hotel no ID required and we think about the next plan of attack. There’s talks of trains, driving the van back, Anita wanting to do all this by herself to not burden us but Higgsy has the bright idea as always. We head up to the room and he checks the logistics and tomorrow we’re in Düsseldorf, not far from where we were at all. We can head there tomorrow and while we load into the venue they can take the van and grab their passports. Problem solved. Nice one Higgo. So we’re all calm now and Si and Anita go for a stroll and Higgs and I have a lay down for an hour.

Time for load in so we head just a short distance to the venue, Si coming along as a rodie. Load in was pretty easy, there’s two bands opening tonight and one of them has the promoter Marco playing drums. He’s a legend. People are piling in and by the time we get on it’s jumping, and the gig is super fun. We could finally play at full volume and go nuts, good times. After some merch time we hang with the locals and have some Thai food made by Rudy’s wife which is just awesome, and the night’s done. This is a cool town and this is a kickass venue. Rock.
