We played at Stereo Wonderland in Köln when we were here in July on the warm up tour so we new what to expect. What we didn’t expect was that the 316 km drive from our current position to the next venue would see us in the worst traffic jam I have ever seen (anywhere on the planet).

For some reason they closed down what looked like a perfectly good 3 lane Autobahn and diverted all the traffic down a single lane road. There were no signs or updates or reasons for why this was happening. The diversion took us well off our course at maybe 5km per hour. What should have been a 3 hour drive took 6 hours. Fuckin’ spewin’.

We made it to the load in time only 15 minutes late. We were hoping to go straight to the hotel and rest and then head down, no go.

They opened doors a bit later and all was good. I had a really fun show, I like the intimate ones and this place is tiny about 50-70 capacity. There was a curfew at 10pm but they let us play an encore, which was ‘Into Your Eyes’. The highlight was seeing and hanging out with some old friends of mine from Oz, who were on Holi’s in Europe and specifically came to Germany to hang with us for a few shows. We cruised around with Si and Anita for a while, beers, food and then went to bed.

A pretty great end to a crazy day.

Cheers
