Waking up was pretty early today. Higgsy had a dentist appointment 12, and it was a 4 hour drive. I ended up hanging out a little while last night so was super tired. We’re fanging it to make the appointment on time and make it. Doesn’t take that long and I sleep in the van in the meantime. Then it’s only 20 mins to Madrid, the big city.

Tonight we’re supporting local heros Eldorado. Great band. So we check in the hotel, and make our way to the venue. Get a park right out the front which is awesome and begin the load in. It’s the first time we meet the booker of our Spanish shows, Natalia. She is an absolute weapon of a booker, and she’s Eldorado manager too. She’s a legend also. The venue is awesome! Pretty big with a great stage. The Eldorado guys are legends and we wait for their soundcheck before doing ours. It goes well even though time is running away, and it’s sounding good!

People start to rock in and it’s a good turn out before we gotta start. The gig goes pretty well, the crowd dig it but also there’s a sense of wondering happening. A lot of people are trying to understand how the sound is happening from two guys, it’s interesting to feel more of an educator than an entertainer sometimes. After the show it’s the same story of meeting punters and selling merch, before hanging out and watching Eldorado. Their set is just awesome, a kickass band.

After the show we load out and get taken around Madrid a little bit, ends up being quite the late night. Our park outside the hotel is until 11:45am.. so we gotta get up a bit before that the next day, and we’re up pretty late. Ah well, deal with it then.
