Waking up in the lovely house we were put up in was well, lovely. Except the hangover. Last night was so rowdy and so late, and there were many beers so the head was sore. A shower and a few thoughts gathered, then we had lunch being prepared for us at 2pm. The legendary bar owners, some staff and some locals all came to join and it was like family. Even when we left the bar owner Johnny was almost in tears. The heart of these people, just amazing. After a few farewells and photos we headed for Leon.

Leon is a pretty big place, tonight we meet up with the business partner of the Spanish booker Grumper. Great name. Now to find the venue is an interesting one. We had to wait for him infant of this driveway that’s blocked by a mechanical steel pole, that only retracts when you have permission from the Police to drive into the sealed off part of town. So we get in there and drive around (after being stopped by a cop) to find the venue. It’s a smaller bar but a nice one. The load in is pretty easy but we gotta move the van, Grumper arrives so he gets in the van with me to find a park. So, we drive around the streets to the exit, then a few blocks away to where we find a park. So it’s a good 10 minute walk to the venue. Boo.

We finish soundcheck and it’s ok, the staff and sound guy aren’t very talkative. We don’t get the vibe that they’re very friendly. Anyway, Grumper takes us out for dinner to a local Mexican joint which is pretty good! We quickly get back to the venue and it’s not that busy, again the staff aren’t talking much and we really don’t feel that excited here. I personally have quite a bad hangover, and a very rare headache. Every time I sing or hit the snare my head pounds. It’s just one of those shows. Higgsy does well to work with the not so hyped crowd and we make the most of what’s a shitty vibe. Still we sell some things and pack up for an early night. We get back to the hotel and we’re pretty stoked to get some sleep. Rock n roll eh.
