After a night off in the lovely town of Logrono, we got up and set off for another gig day. We decided it was a good time go grab a spare tire for the road first thing and went and did that, they changed it right away which was awesome and we set off for a 5 hour drive south to Velencia. We were looking forward to this one.

The drive was good, doing a 2 and a bit hour stint each we got to Velencia and went straight to the hotel to chill a bit before load in. We found a park right outside the hotel, which was right new the venue so was off to great start when we found out that the promoter gave us the wrong hotel details, that’s cool thought because our actual hotel was just a few minutes walk two blocks away. We had and hour and a bit to kill and I was super tired so I slept and Higgsy went to the top floor for a swim.

Load in time and we walk back to where the venue is, 16 Tonelands, and have to park on the footpath for load in. We meet the bar owner upon rocking up and check out the joint and it’s awesome! Hard walls and concrete floor, but the roof has been treated so the sound in there is pretty damn good. Publo is the sound guy and he knows what he’s doing, and everything is sounding big and the way we like it. We meet the support band, Trading Licks, who are local young lads that play a mix of their own stuff and Led Zeppelin mash-ups. Cool dudes. We’re taken to dinner for some local cuisine that’s of course bloody brilliant, then head back to the venue as the lads are about to start. Great facilities in this place means our own room and toilets up starts, great for prepping for a show. I go down and check the room out and it’s a fairly decent crowd, and definitely the youngest we’ve had so far. It’s always good to see 20 and ups at rock shows as they’ll keep listening to rock for the rest of their life if they see a good show. Time to play now and the crowd is jumping, awesome turn out and the show goes super well!

After a bit of time at the merch we hang around and chat to punters and staff a like and it was a great night. Ended up being a late one for me, getting back at the hotel at about 7am but you get that. Few hours of sleep and we’re off again.
