When my alarm went off this morning I felt like I could have slept for another 2 hours, I was in such a deep sleep. We needed to get on the road early(ish) to do a 5.5 hr drive to Burgos.

Cangas was pumping, the beach looked beautiful and the weather was turning it on again. I would love to spend more time there. Same with Santiago, what a town! Anyway the tour rolls on.

With the van now fully functional (missing a spare tyre) but driving well, we high tailed it to Burgos. (Update on the starting problem, it seems to be when Danny puts his key in a certain way, it kicks in the immobilizer. When he flips it or uses my key she starts!? (Zia our Renault is a moody French bitch!) It made us laugh thinking about all the guys in St Jean De Luz push starting us and trying to get her going, when all it is is a bloody immobilizer! They actually got it started that way! Our new mate Christian (a Spanish pro skater) must have been a car thief previously?

Burgos looks cool, apparently there is an epic cathedral we “must see”, I hope we have time? Tomorrow we will be sleeping in and finding a spare tire me thinks?

We had trouble finding the venue. Mainly because it was part of a soccer stadium. Literally built into the stand, with the ceiling inside descending in steps downward due to the seating above. Etsudio 27 is a cool venue and the staff were great. There was a miscommunication in taking us out for dinner. We finished sound check and went to the van to get a jacket to head to dinner, got out and both dudes had split, we’re like “wtf, where’s our dinner mofo’s?”. We had to find ourselves somewhere to eat and got a very hearty apology from the promoter later, a miss communication, well made up for in pizzas and drinks. You really get looked after here, which is comforting when you are so far from home, in strange places every night and don’t know anybody.

By 10:45 when we were due to come on the crowd was in, there wasn’t many earlier. The crowd was great for a Monday night in a town we’ve never been to before. We got the call for a encore after playing for 1 hr 20 mins. ‘Just Wanna Rock N Roll’ has been going down a treat. We’ve played Paradise at the last 5 shows in a row too. It’s great because it’s probably my favourite kotn song, but it’s hard to play live and sing . I’m glad it’s been working and to feel like my voice is up to the challenge.

Few casual beers after the show, a splif around the bar (a great Spanish custom) and for us an earlyish and quiet night. Beauty.
